Grocery staples…breakfast edition
Grocery shopping for healthy options can be hard! So I put together a handful of my top picks for a nutritious breakfast.
1. Berries- my all time favorite snack, side, breakfast bowl topper. (Also they’re low sugar and GI!)
2. More fruit! I grab a different assortment each week to keep it fun.
3. Muesli- regular boxed cereal’s healthier cousin. Can be made hot or cold and is delicious when added to yogurt.
4. Rolled Oats- allows for more creative oatmeal or overnight oats compared to muesli and can be added to smoothies
5. Protein pancake mix- because everyone deserves a this super fun way to get your protein in in the morning!
6. Cottage cheese- my go to no prep protein when I don’t have time to cook breakfast. Just add some fruit or vegetables and you’re good to go!
7. Eggs- need I say more?
8 Protein powder- a well rounded add in to soooo many breakfasts such as smoothies or bowls (oatmeal, smoothie, or yogurt parfait) or to make a simple shake with milk or water
9. Medjool dates- if you haven’t tried these yet you’re missing out! They’re my favorite sweetener for smoothies (next to fresh honey) and they are great something sweet to have in the morning that helps kick cravings for later in the day!
Hope this helps, more meal staples coming soon!
